The Crusty Classic will be held in conjunction with the Lancaster Bark at the Park pet fair which benefits the LA County Animal Shelter in Lancaster http://www.lancasterbarkatthepark.org/

This Tournament is a celebration and is dedicated to the memory of Steve "Crusty" Walsh whose excitement for the sport will always be remembered by those who knew him. This event is open to any and all competitors, regardless of club affiliation. Each competitor will receive a competitor's bag on Saturday which includes one commemorative Crusty Classic disc and other goodies.  Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams per division each day. At the close of the event the cumulative overall points leader will be crowned "Best in the West" and the overall California resident points leader will receive the "Golden State Disc Dog Champion" award.

UFO Local Tournament - Saturday 10/01/2022
The UFO Novice, Intermediate and Pro Throw & Catch divisions will include two rounds of Throw & Catch. The Intermediate and Open Freestyle divisions will include one round of Throw & Catch and one round of Freestyle.

Registration/check-in begins at 7:00am and ends at 7:30am. The competitor's meeting will be at 8:45am and the event will start shortly thereafter. NO LATE REGISTRATION IS ALLOWED.

Crusty Classic - Sunday 10/02/2022
The Novice, Intermediate and Pro Toss & Fetch divisions will consist of two rounds of Fastlane. The Intermediate and Advanced Freestyle divisions will consist of one round of Freestyle and one round of Fastlane.

Registration/check-in begins at 7:00am and ends at 7:30am. The competitor's meeting will be at 8:45am and the event will start shortly thereafter. NO LATE REGISTRATION IS ALLOWED.


Format - UFO Local Tournament:

Divisions/Fees: The five divisions will include Novice Throw & Catch ($5), Intermediate Throw & Catch ($7), Intermediate Freestyle ($7), Open Throw & Catch ($10) and Open Combined ($10).

Novice Throw & Catch: Novice handlers are considered to be those people that are competing in their first year. Novice is NOT for experienced handlers playing with new dogs. If that is you, enter a higher division. The novice division includes two rounds of Throw & Catch.

Intermediate Throw & Catch: The Intermediate Throw & Catch division is for experienced handlers and includes two rounds of Throw & Catch.

Intermediate Freestyle: The Intermediate Freestyle division includes one round of Freestyle and one round of Throw & Catch.

Open Throw & Catch: The Open Throw & Catch division is for experienced handlers and includes two rounds of Throw & Catch. The Open Throw & Catch division is a qualifier for the UFO World Cup Throw & Catch Championship.

Open Combined: The Open Combined division includes one round of Freestyle and one round of Throw & Catch.

Throw & Catch: The scoring zones will be at the 15, 25, & 35 meter lines, plus the 35 meter bonus zone with awarded points being 1, 2, 3 & 4 respectfully. The time limit will be 60 seconds using a single disc.

Freestyle: This freeform round which is choreographed to music will be judged on a standard 40 point scoring system. The time limit will be 120 seconds for the Open division and 90 seconds for the Intermediate division, using up to seven discs.

Handlers with multiple dogs: Handlers must enter all dogs in the same level of competition. For example, a Novice competitor must enter all dogs in Novice Throw & Catch. An Intermediate competitor must enter all dogs in the Intermediate Throw & Catch and Intermediate Freestyle divisions. An Open competitor must enter all dogs in the Open Throw & Catch and Open Combined divisions.

Toss & Fetch: The time limit will be 60 seconds using a single disc. See the Crusty Classic Rules & Guidlines for further information.

Freestyle: This freeform round which is choreographed to music will be judged on a standard 40 point scoring system. The time limit will be 120 seconds for the Advance division and 90 seconds for the intermediate division using up to seven discs. The minimum age for any dog competing in Freestyle is 18 months.

Fees: The fees will be Novice Toss & Fetch ($5), Intermediate Toss & Fetch ($7), Intermediate Freestyle ($7), Pro Toss & Fetch ($10) and Advanced Freestyle ($10) for each dog/handler team.
